Part worked great!!!!
It's very high quality.
Looks like a great product. However, I misread the description and bought it for my 92. needless to say, it will not fit. I might try and get a console some a 97 and see if it can be swapped in.
Had to modify it cause my air bag module seemed to be to one side a lot more. But after that it was solid!
The layout had to me modified and we had to re-drill to make it work however it is a solid piece of manufacturing. In the end it does work.
The Bracket is beefy and spot on or what is needed to stiffen that console. There was some difficulty installing this and DB could use mock-up jigs to ensure the fit is exact. I found that installing the front screw first then the two rear worked well. Loosely installed, then drive them home. Use a 6+ inch extension on a screw gun. Great product!!
Just finished installing it. Had to grind down the edge of the forward facing leg about an 8th of an inch. Once completed it fit right in... Supplied fasteners are a huge plus....
Very well made bracket but if you’re doing the center console swap to a 1996 or earlier Cherokee this will not fit. I’ll have to add some length to the legs and hopefully I can make this fit.
Great fix but needed some tweaking. Overall I'm very happy.
Great and sturdy. Wish I had done this sooner. Had tried to make do with my own hardware store brackets at the foot of the console. This is much stiffer and better. The only knock on this is that you have to be prepared to really shove it down, play with it, or re-drill the holes in your floor to get everything aligned, but if you are doing this, these things are minor. Overall its well worth the effort and everything else will fall off your jeep before your center console does. Thanks DIrtBound. You got it out fast and its a quality part. Solved a major annoyance with this vehicle.
Great idea, so glad to have my console stable again. Solid as a rock, didn’t fit exactly, required minor modification-holes to the body were a little off.
Sturdy product and definitely worth the money. Only reason its 4 stars and not 5 is because the mounting holes on the bracket are just a little off from the factory holes for the jeep. The self tapping screws provided worked to drill new holes just wished it lined up better out of the box.
The bracket was tight fit trying to get it screwed to the floor. I had to cut and drill my console because the holes did not quite line up. I was hoping for more of a bolt in application. I do like it being a steel/ heavier duty bracket, better than the cheap plastic oem bracket.
Extremely durable and well built. Welds are top notch and powder coat seems durable as well. Only issue is fitment. I have a 97 Country and this was a want rather than a need, as my original plastic one was completely fine. First off, as someone that’s not pulled their center console before, its a pain in the arse. Secondly, the supplied self tapping screws were not nearly long enough to replace the stock ones, so had to reuse those. Thirdly the holes on the bracket did not line up with the stock holes, so a lot of forcing and prying was used. You can make it work, but now my whole console is shifted I’d say 1/4 of inch forward. In retrospect does not seem like a lot but now the shift handle and 4wd linkage stickers aren’t lined up properly. Not a bug deal I suppose if your console is crapped out but otherwise annoying. Does make it extremely sturdy though!
The bracket itself is very high quality and rock solid, but that stiff construction made installing it a bit problematic. The feet and mounting holes aren't an exact match to the angles and locations of the OEM plastic bracket, so some bending and forcing screws at angles had to happen. But besides some install struggles, my center console is reinforced again!
Best manufactured metal replacement part. It will last longer than my Cherokee.
I replaced two of these in my XJ’s. Always fit perfectly and are very solid. I’ve done a 2DR 5-speed and 4DR automatic. I pulled the console out in the 2DR. (Very easy) but left the automatic console in place so I wouldn’t have to disconnect the gear shifter.
Thickest bracket I could find, and they actually press in a nut rather than just a tinnerman like some of the others. Metal was clean, painted nice after a light stuff My only complaint is shipping. That was crazy pricey for a small box that was ground ship
DirtBound did a good job of creating the Center Console Bracket that will stand up to the jostling the Center Console is subjected to when off-roading.
Came in a very timely matter and fit with zero issues. No more wobbly center console, I love it. Another great product from DirtBound
